Cricket: Warner outshines Warne in Big Bash

Warner smashed an unbeaten 102 off 51 balls to steer Sydney Thunder to a six-wicket win.

MELBOURNE:
Dynamic opener David Warner thwarted Shane Warne’s comeback to Twenty20 cricket with a pulsating century in the Big Bash League. Warner smashed an unbeaten 102 off 51 balls to steer Sydney Thunder to a six-wicket win over Warne’s Melbourne Stars as they successfully chased down the 154-run target with an over to spare. Leg-spinner Warne, playing for the first time since the Indian Premier League last May, bowled only two overs and was clouted for two sixes by Warner.
