CM Sindh orders judicial inquiry into target killings

KARACHI:
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah ordered a judicial inquiry into the target killing incidents in Karachi on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi after a high level meeting at the Chief Minister House, Qaim Ali Shah said that 878 persons have been killed in various incidents of violence in Karachi since January this year. He said that 136 of these are said to be target killings.


He also said that a judicial inquiry will be conducted in this regard and a report will be presented to the provincial government in 30 days.

The Chief Minister announced Five million rupees for anyone providing information on those behind target killings.

Speaking at the occasion, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said the criminal elements want to destabalize the country and disrupt peace in the economic hub.
