FAISALABAD: A door-to-door anti dengue campaign similar to the anti-polio campaign will be launched in the district to avoid the attack of dengue virus in the future, District coordination Officer Naseem Sadiq said on Thursday. The DCO was presiding over a meeting to review the strategy for effective eradication of dengue mosquito and its larva. The DCO directed the health officers to devise a micro plan for anti dengue campaign and to identify the required pesticides, spray machines, manpower and other necessary resources to make the campaign a success. He also advised the officer to constitute a forum comprising entomologists, Health Department experts and scientists for compiling recommendations for the eradication of dengue virus. “Keeping in view the hardships faced by the people and the government, proper measures should be taken this season,” he said. He also requested the public hospitals to join hands with the government in this regard.
