Seraiki province: ‘People will soon hear some good news’
Jamshed Dasti talks about his telephone conversation with the president.
BAHAWALPUR:
“The president is recovering fast and will soon return,” PPP MNA Jamshed Dasti said on Thursday. Talking to The Express Tribune, Dasti said that he had talked to President Asif Ali Zardari on telephone after he was shifted to his house from the hospital in Dubai.
Quoting the president, he said that the PPP government had never deserter the people of Pakistan.
“The chief executive of the country is in the country and is managing all government activities magnificently and so are all the functionaries,” he said.
He said that the presence of the PPP co-chairman in Pakistan was a proof that the people could trust the party leadership.
Talking about the demand for a province in South Punjab, Dasti said that the people’s demands will be met soon.
“Bahawalpur was never a province in the history of the sub-continent.
It had been a state within a confederation only under the British rule,” he added.
