Dasti opposes creation of Bahawalpur province
PPP MNA says he talked to Zardari on his return who supported creation of a Seraiki province.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Jamshed Dasti says that he opposes the creation of Bahawalpur as a province. He said that it was never a province in the history of the sub continent, except for being a state during British rule.
Dasti, while talking to The Express Tribune, said that he had spoken to President Asif Ali Zardari, who had supported the creation of a Seraiki province and had given his assurances that the PPP will create it.
He said that Zardari had stated that his arrival back in Pakistan will be a slap on the faces of all his opponents, especially those who were spreading rumours of a coup.
Dasti told The Express Tribune that President Zardari had said all government functionaries and officials of the PPP were present in Pakistan and that he would have never leave the people of Pakistan for a single moment.
According to Dasti, the president said that the people spreading rumours of a military coup were the same ones who were alleging that the president had run away from the country. He added that the president was recovering fast and was shifted back home after complete satisfaction from the doctors.
