KARACHI:
An elderly man and his teenage nephew were burnt alive inside their house when they were sleeping in Khawaja Ajmair Nagri, when a fire erupted on Wednesday night.
The fire broke out in the middle of the night and the residents didn’t notice it till the flames had engulfed the house.
Two fire tenders came to the site and were able to put the fire out after an hour. The bodies were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
The victims were 60-year-old Khadim Hussain, and 16-year-old Irfan. Both were from Faisalabad.
DSP Altaf Hussain said that Hussain also used the house as a store for his clothes which could have been the reason why the fire spread so quickly. His nephew, Irfan, had recently come to Karachi from Faisalabad to work with him. He said that no case will be registered since it was an accident.
