LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Wednesday sought assistance from the Punjab advocate general and a deputy attorney general to decide the maintainability of a writ petition seeking disqualification of Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa for his alleged involvement in political activities and misuse of government funds.

The court has asked both the law officer to appear on December 20, the next date of hearing.

Petitioner Advocate Afaq Ahmad had alleged in the petition that the governor had been violating his constitutional limits and had been frequently witnessed indulging in political activities. He further alleged that the governor belonged to southern Punjab, was utilising government’s funds for the southern part of the province on orders from his political party, the Pakistan People’s Party. Ahmad alleged that the Governor was being told to allocate state resources for the creation of another province comprising southern portion of Punjab.
