Women’s rights: Anti-women practice bills passage hailed
Civil society also welcomed landmark pro-women legislation seeking severe punishment for violators to protect women.

Honorary Goodwill Ambassador for Women Empowerment Fiza Batool Gilani on Tuesday expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Human Rights for raising women issues and offered her full support and cooperation for women empowerment related challenges.
She said the ministry had done remarkable work on women-related legislation, following the landmark women’s rights bills passed by the Senate on Monday. Meanwhile, the civil society also welcomed the landmark pro-women legislation seeking severe punishment for the violators to protect women.
