RAWALPINDI:
A mother-of-four suffered critical burns after a cooking mishap while preparing breakfast on a wood fire. Yasmin Akhtar, 26, told police that, “Hardly had I doused oil on firewood and lit a match stick, a ball of fire blew up and I was trapped.”
The incident happened while Yasmin’s husband, Akhtar Khan, had gone to a nearby market to buy milk. When he returned on seeing the smoke, he rushed in and saw his wife trapped in the fire. Though the fire was brought under control with the help of neighbours, Yasmin had suffered critical burns and was shifted to Holy Family Hospital in the morning.
