Seraiki Province: ‘PPP all for it, PML-N against it’

Punjab CM never allocated funds for the development of south Punjab, says Raja Riaz Ahmad of PPP.

The Pakistan Peoples Party Punjab Parliamentary group adopted a resolution on Monday, urging the federal government and party leadership to take practical steps for the creation a new province consisting of southern Punjab. The meeting was presided over the leadership of opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly. Raja Riaz Ahmed said that establishing a new province was necessary to remove the sense of deprivation among the people of South Punjab. He accused the Punjab government of not paying heed to the neglected area’s of the province. He added that Punjab CM never allocated funds for the development of south Punjab. Raja Riaz Amhad said the PPP was the only party that had raised the issue of a Saraiki province. He flayed the PML-N leadership for creating impediments to the way of the Saraiki province, adding that the new province would change the lifestyle of people of the neglected area besides bringing economic prosperity.
