Media personnel on Monday remembered slain journalist Sohail Ahmad Qalandar and two officials killed in a suicide attack on the Peshawar Press Club (PPC) in December 2009.
Provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain, a close friend of Qalandar’s, also attended the ceremony and paid tribute to his meritorious services as a journalist.
He also lauded the late security guard, Riaz, who sacrificed his life to save journalists present in the building during the attack. Hussain said Qalandar had launched a movement against terrorism through his writing and his services will not be forgotten.
They offered fateha for the eternal peace of the departed souls and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
The memorial service was organised by PPC and Khyber Union of Journalists.
