Assuring PPP workers: ‘President ‘well now,’ will return soon’

Kaira says the president spoke to him on the phone and asked him to inform party workers.

LALAMUSA:
President Asif Ali Zardari is now well, and will resume his duties as soon as the doctors allow him to do so, said Pakistan Peoples Party’s Information Secretary Qamar Zaman Kaira. Addressing media and party workers, Kaira said the president spoke to him on the phone and asked him to inform party workers, on his behalf, to be patient in the face of current situation. Party workers and leaders are always ready to face national issues and would never hesitate to sacrifice to resolve them, Kaira quoted the president as saying. Kaira also took a swipe at opposition leader Nawaz Sharif and said he has been “politically isolated.” Since no party is supporting him, he is seeking help from nationalist parties, Kaira said. He added that Shahbaz Sharif went abroad for treatment after every couple of months but the PPP never discussed his visits. It is unfortunate that some people are looking for conspiracies in the president’s illness, instead of praying for him, Kaira added.
