Polishing resources: Special economic zone to be set up

The Sindh government has allocated 300 acres of land for a Sindh Stone Development Company.

KARACHI:
The Sindh government has allocated 300 acres of land for a Sindh Stone Development Company to promote the export of marble and granite stones, on the request of Sindh Board of Investment. According to the chairman of the board, Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, the zone will have facilities for the processes involved in stone processing. He said that Pakistani stones are in great demand but the export lags due to poor technology. Italy and China are keen to help Pakistan, he added.
