Police said Rafi was arrested on suspicion and he later confessed to the crime during interrogation.

FAISALABAD:

A man along with his son and an accomplice were arrested by Dijkot police on Sunday for allegedly killing his brother and three others.

The deceased were identified as Ashiq, 55, a resident of Chak 659-GB Chughalpur, his wife Nasreen Bibi,40, their son Muhammad Boota alias Mohsin and their servant Muhammad Iqbal.

Police said Rafi was arrested on suspicion and he later confessed to the crime during interrogation. They said Riayasat, Rafi’s father, and an accomplice Abid were arrested on the suspect’s indication.

Rafi told the police that his father had allegedly planned the murders to avenge the killing of a son alleged by Ashiq several years ago. He said the elders of the family had then settled the dispute between his father and uncle but the former had never forgotten the incident.

On Saturday night, they invited Ashiq and other deceased to their house and served an intoxicating drink. They allegedly killed the four with an axe when they had fainted.

The dead bodies have been sent for an autopsy.
