Sapna Khan case: SHO to explain failure to register case despite orders
Sapna Khan's father contends that Race Course SHO had refused to register a case despite having court orders.
LAHORE:
An Additional District and Sessions Judge on Saturday asked Station House Officer (SHO) Race Course to file his comments by December 12 on why he had failed to register a case against former Punjab chief minster Dost Muhammad Khosa for allegedly abducting and murdering his wife Sapna Khan despite issuance of court notices ordering him to do so.
Judge Chaudhary Nazeer Ahmed was hearing the plea of Misal Khan, father of actor Sapna Khan, who said that despite having court orders the Race Course SHO had refused to register a case. The court has summoned the record of the contempt of court case.
Misal Khan contended that he along with his legal counsel had approached the Race Course police station to register their case. However the SHO told them that he would not register a case until he received the original court order.
On December 8, Misal Khan re-visited the police station, this time with court orders but neither the SHO nor DSP were available despite the fact that Khan had pre-informed them of his visit.
He prayed the court to direct the concerned authorities to register a case against the former Punjab CM who, he alleged had abducted and then killed his daughter.
The court has asked for comments from SHO Race Course by December 12 for not registering a case against the former CM. The judge also summoned the record of the case.
Previously, the judge had directed SHO Race Course to record the statement of complainant and register a murder case, if made out, against former Chief Minister Dost Muhammad Khosa on the allegation of killing his wife Sapna Khan.
