Govt might not complete its term: Imran
PTI chief says political resignations will be piling up soon.
LAHORE:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said on Thursday that the current crisis being faced by the PPP-led coalition government might not allow it to complete its constitutional term, adding that only popular governments come out successful from crises.
While speaking to the media upon arrival at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, Imran criticised the government for “seeking support from the US” in this regard.
The PTI chief also demanded that a neutral body, devoid of any political figures, be setup to hold general elections in the country. He went on to disclose that political resignations would be piling up soon, adding that the masses were wary of voting for political parties which have failed to deliver on any of their promises.
Highlighting the inept governance of the PPP-led coalition and PML-N’s government in Punjab, Imran said that that corruption, inflation, dishonesty and the deteriorating law and order situation had not been addressed by the leadership of both parties.
The PTI chief announced on Thursday that the Sindh government had not yet approved an application which sought approval for holding a rally at Mazar-e-Quaid on December 25.
However, Imran pacified supporters, saying the PTI would explore other options, such as legal action, to obtain permission for its public gathering in the metropolis.
