Scrabble event begins in Malaysia, Khatri termed Pakistan’s main hope.

KARACHI:
Pakistan’s eight-person squad begin their World Youth Scrabble Championship 2011 campaign in Malaysia today with national junior champion Shahzaib Khatri termed the country’s main hope in the three-day event.

According to the Pakistan Scrabble Association (PSA), each player will play 24 games in a bid to improve Pakistan’s top-eight finish last year. “We hope the team performs better this year, especially Khatri who received the highest scorer award,” PSA Vice-President Javaid Iqbal told The Express Tribune. “With an improved ranking and eight representatives, our prospects are bright.”


Apart from Khatri, Pakistan’s squad includes Jahanzaib Khan, Inshal Shahbaz, Javeria Salman, Javeria Mirza, Talal Amjad, Minhaj Uddin, Taha Huda, Hamza Sheikh, Asad Merchant and Yash Gandhi.
