Homicide: 2 arrested in 7-month-old case

Suspects confessed to killing the man over business dispute.

SIALKOT:
Daska City police have arrested businessman Muhammad Saeed Mughal, and his accomplice in a seven-month-old murder case.

SHO Daska City police Tahir Majeed Khan said Mughal was charged with the murder of another businessman in the district, Muhammad Saleem Mughal. He said the killing was allegedly motivated by a business dispute.

Police had earlier arrested Muhammad Aqeel and his father Abdul Majeed in the case but the two were released after no evidence were gathered against them during the investigation.

The chained body of Saleem Mughal had been found in fields near Ittehad Town in Daska on May 20, 2011.

SHO Khan said police arrested Saeed Mughal and Asif Machchi after listening to the cell phone conversations between the two and the deceased businessman. He said the suspects later confessed to the crime during interrogation.

He said the two suspects would soon be produced before the court to seek a physical remand. PPI
