The series is a part of the SEF Women’s Literacy & Empowerment Programme (WLEP), which aims to provide educational and self-developmental opportunities to neo-literate adult women learners and their educators.
While speaking at the event, Mughni said that she travelled all over rural Sindh with the SEF team and talked to the village women to develop the book’s content. She added that the book not only discusses the pertinent social issues, but also aims to provide solutions for them. The foundation’s managing director, Prof. Anita Ghulam Ali, stressed that these books will play a pivotal role in creating awareness among the learners. Ali said that the increased synergy between educators and the learners would revitalise the social development efforts in the underprivileged communities.
A presentation on the Code of Conduct of Employees, which was distributed to the audience in both Urdu and Sindhi, was given by the foundation’s Manager Musarrat Palijo. She outlined the laws of sexual harassment from the Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010, stressing that it was essential for employees, especially women, to know their rights in the workplace.
