Lahore won the National Women’s Under-19 Cricket Championship after they got the better of Rawalpindi by eight wickets in the final of the event yesterday.
Lahore won the toss and elected to bowl first. Rawalpindi put up 119 runs for the loss of six wickets, with Aliya Riaz top-scoring with 33 runs.
In reply, Lahore chased down the target with ease, losing just two wickets and with an over left to spare.
Farheen Mehboob, who scored a fine unbeaten 43 in Lahore’s clinical run-chase, was declared player of the match, while the talented Areeb Shamim of Multan was named player of the tournament.
