Stay Off Roads: Bus owners angered by robberies
They protested against the increase in robberies that occur along the Karachi-Quetta route.
KARACHI:
Bus owners refused to operate their vehicles on the Karachi-Quetta route on Friday. For the fourth consecutive day, they protested against the increase in robberies that occur along the route. Besides hundreds of private vans and taxis, more than 100 buses traverse through it. Passengers faced immense problems due to the suspension of bus services and had to use the Bolan Mail, which is the only train service between Karachi and Quetta. The transporters said that they would not resume the bus service unless the government takes foolproof measures against the thieves and ensures complete safety to them.
