Cricket: Rawalpindi face Lahore in U-19 final

Rawalpindi Region defeated Karachi Region by five wickets in the first semi-final.

LAHORE:
Rawalpindi Region defeated Karachi Region by five wickets in the first semi-final of the under-19 National Women's Cricket Championship 2011. Electing to bat first, Karachi put up  a meagre total of 93. In reply, Rawalpindi reached the target in 17.5 overs with five wickets remaining. Player-of-the-match Sadia Khaliq top-scored with 37. In the second semi-final, Lahore overcame Multan after the latter crumbled to 84 for nine in 20 overs. Lahore's Hafsa Amjad bagged three wickets for 11 runs. The low total never posed a challenge as Lahore reached the target in less than 18 overs with six wickets in hand. Amjad was named the player of the match. The final will be played today.
