Tobacco: ‘274 dying in Multan everyday’
5,000 people are hospitalised every day in the district as a result of smoking.

About 274 people die and 5,000 are hospitalised every day in the district as a result of smoking, district coordinator for Tobacco Control Cell (TCC) Tahir Khan said at a seminar on Thursday. Khan said about 1,200 people were taking up smoking everyday. Pamphlets containing literature on adverse effects of smoking were also distributed on the occasion.
