14% of Pakistanis trust purity of packaged edible items

ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, public opinion is mixed regarding the purity of packaged food items.

Fourteen percent (14%) of the respondents said they have a lot of trust in the packaged edible items, 41% considered them to be unadulterated to some extent and 36% believed them impure. However, 9% completely doubted the purity was sealed food items.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the country were asked the following question: While using packaged edible products, to what extent do you trust them to be pure and unadulterated?

The findings of the survey revealed that proportionately a higher percentage of ruralites (47%) doubt the quality of packaged food items as compared to their urban counter parts (40%).
