PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and chief minister KP & Fata Ameer Haider Khan Hoti ordered the health ministry to deploy a team of professionals to provide free of cost treatment to Shakila, a girl who lost her eye sight as a result of typhoid.

Shakila, a resident of Kareem Pora in Peshawar, lost her eyesight after she contracted typhoid. Shakila's father had passed away and the girl was unable to afford the medical assistance she needed. This forced Shakila to announce that she would be selling her kidney to raise funds for her treatment.

The Prime Minister and chief minister KP & Fata took notice of this statement and announced free treatment for Shakila. Immediately after this announcement, a team  from the Ministry of Health reached Shakila’s house to begin her medical treatment.
