Protest called off: Balochistan teachers win pay increase
The demands include a revision of the time scale promotion system.

The demands of All Balochistan Government Teachers Association (ABGTA) for a pay increase and promotions have been accepted by the provincial government.
The association had been protesting for the acceptance of these demands for almost two weeks. The implementation is to take effect immediately.
The demands had included a revision of the time scale promotion system. In accordance with these demands, the time scale has now been revised so that junior vernacular teachers and Quran teachers will be promoted from grade 7 to grade 9. Junior English teachers and physical training instructors will be upgraded from grade 9 to grade 14.
English and physical education teachers will also be moved to grade 17 after teaching for 21 years, whereas vernacular teachers will be promoted to grade 16 after teaching for 25 years.
