The federal government released Rs55 million for the laying of Astroturf in a hockey ground in Sargodha.

The federal government released Rs55 million for the laying of Astroturf in a hockey ground in Sargodha. Former minister of state Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi made the statement while touring the hockey ground near Mela Mandi along with a team of turf experts on Monday. He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government was taking practical steps for the promotion of sport in the country. “After the laying of Astroturf, local players will be able to improve their performance. Hopefully this will improve our performance at the international level,” he added. Turf expert Khursheed Ahmed Chohan and a number of local hockey players were also present on the occasion.
