Bahauddin Zakariya traveled to Sindh on camels to preach Islam not in an entourage of hundreds of posh cars to preach lies. This was stated in a press release issued by PPP MNA Mumtaz Alam Gillani on Monday. Offering a rebuttal to statements made by former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi during a rally in Ghotki on Sunday, Gillani accused the former PPP leader of “political dishonesty” and “cheating with the people of his old constituency…by ignoring his voters to adopt his new political garb.”

Gillani condemned Qureshi’s remarks against President Zardari regarding the nuclear arsenal, saying that “until five months back, his old master the President is the chosen representative of the people of Pakistan and under whom he served for more than three and half years as Foreign Minister.

Gillani also called Qureshi an “opportunist”, who joined the PPP after being “kicked out” by Nawaz Sharif and that the PPP had elevated him to his current stature. He accused Qureshi of bringing in his own people to contest the 2002 elections and stabbing the party in the back when he was PPP Punjab president.

Separately, PPP leader and former federal minister Aitzaz Ahsan criticised former Foreign Minister Shah Qureshi for his remarks against President Zardari, asking why Qureshi had not raise any such issues when he was holding the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portfolio.
