Squash: Matthew hopes for quick recovery
He pulled out of the quarter-finals of the Kuwait PSA Cup with an adductor muscle injury.
KUWAIT CITY:
World champion Nick Matthew’s season may be over after he pulled out of the quarter-finals of the Kuwait PSA Cup with an adductor muscle injury. Matthew hopes to recover before the last World Series tournament of 2011, the Punj Lloyd PSA Masters in a fortnight’s time. “I have a fantastic team and I hope that with the right assessment and treatment it may heal quickly,” said Matthew. His decision allowed second-seed Karim Darwish to progress to last-four. Meanwhile, fifth-seed Gregory Gaultier advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Stewart Boswell 8-11, 11-5, 11-2, 11-5.
