A first-half goal from Simone Pepe sent Juventus back to the top of Serie A as they edged third-placed Lazio 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico. Pepe stroked home the winner after 34 minutes to take Juve a point clear of Udinese and three ahead of Lazio. “It was a hard-fought win that showed the character we have and how much we have matured,” said Juve coach Antonio Conte. Elsewhere, Edinson Cavani scored deep into stoppage time as Napoli earned a 1-1 draw at Atalanta, Catania defeated Lecce 1-0 and Novara beat Parma 2-1.
