Tennis: Aqeel advances in ranking tournament

Top-seed Aqeel Khan barely broke a sweat in his first round men’s singles match against Fahad Mehmood at the Saeed Hai National Ranking Tennis Championship. Aqeel produced a dominant display to humble Mehmood 6-2, 6-2. In other matches, Irfanullah crushed Sikander Hayat Khan 6-0, 6-0, while Imran Shouqat got the better of Asad Shakoor with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph. Meanwhile, in the boys under-14 category, Mansoor Khan saw off a second-set fightback from Muneeb to win 6-2, 7-6, while Shehzad comfortably dismissed Zuhaib Gul 6-0, 6-0.
