“We do not trust the police and demand that the Rangers be put in charge of Afaq Bhai’s security,” declared Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) Senior Vice-President Shamshad Ghauri.
The party called a press conference following the court’s decision to grant their leader, Afaq Ahmed, bail on Saturday. Ghauri said that Afaq Ahmed will soon be among them and his first stop will be Landhi.
“Afaq Bhai has been attacked by MQM-Altaf’s terrorists four times in the past (while he was) in police custody,” Ghauri alleged. “Terrorists including the notorious Ajmal Pahari have admitted to these attacks and (their confessions) were included in the Joint Interrogation Team’s report.”
