Contempt Petition: Traders want action against DCO, IG

Hall Road traders have filed a contempt of court petition in the Lahore High Court against Lahore District Coordination Officer, Home secretary, and Punjab Inspector General of Police accusing them of failing to implement the court order banning protests on The Mall. The president of the trader association, Babar Meer, filed the petition stating that protesting nurses had blocked The Mall for several hours. He said that despite the Lahore High Court ban, the government had not taken any action against the nurses. He said that the DCO, Home secretary and IG were as guilty of violating the ban as the protesters.
