KARACHI: A division bench of the Sindh High Court issued a notice to the superintendent of the central jail and the advocate general of Sindh for denying medical care to a prisoner. Rustam filed a petition which stated that proper medical treatment was denied by the prison authorities. As a result, he developed heart and kidney conditions and the prison clinic did not have the facilities to treat him. Despite the recommendation of the chief medical officer of the prison to immediately shift Rustam to Civil hospital, the authorities did not do anything. He appealed to the court to order the authorities to shift Rustam to Civil hospital immediately for treatment. The bench ordered the prison authorities to present Rustam with his medical history on December 2.
