LAHORE:

Race Course station house officer was given till November 30 to file his reply to a petition that seeks the registration of a murder case against Dost Muhammad Khosa and seven others.

The petition has been filed by Misal Khan, Sapna Khan’s father. Sapna, a stage actress married the former chief minister in June 2010, according to the petition. Khosa says that he divorced Sapna in June this year. The actress has been missing since June 22.

Khan said, in his petition, that Dost Muhammad Khosa and seven other men – identified as Sajjad Ahmed, Shahir Daood Butt, Muhammad Fahim Amjad, Rana Tanveer, Javed, Yasin and Shahid – killed his daughter after kidnapping her.

He said that on June 22 his daughter told him that Khosa had asked her to come to his house in GOR. Sapna went to meet Khosa but never came back, the father told the court. Both her mobile phones were switched off, Khan said. He said that the family had tried to talk to Khosa, but he did not talk on the phone and instead chose to communicate through text messages.

Misal Khan said that Dost Muhammad Khosa had sent a message to his son warning the family against looking for Sapna. Khan said that Khosa had threatened to kill them if they did.

The petitioner said that police were not willing to take action against Khosa because of his connections. He prayed the court to issue a directive to the SHO concerned to register a case against the suspects.
