Quaid Trophy: Sajid claims six as HBL dominate

SBP struggle on opening day of Quaid Trophy match.

Sajid Shah destroyed the SBP’s batting lineup, taking six for 34 to help HBL dismiss their opponents for 204 on the opening day of their Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match, according to information provided by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Shah was supported by leg-spinner Danish Kaneria, who claimed three wickets, as SBP, yet to lose a match in the league, faltered in their first-innings. HBL, in reply, lost an early wicket as they made 13 in the sixth over.

Top two battle it out

In a high-profile clash between the tournament’s top two teams, ZTBL bundled out Wapda for 192 in the first-innings before making 22 for one in six overs.

Mohammad Khalil, who named Junaid Khan’s replacement for Pakistan’s your of Bangladesh, claimed two for 53 and Rehan Riaz claimed three for 28 as Wapda, placed second in the table, were bowled out in the 60th over.

Shahzaib, Baig make half-centuries

Karachi Blues rode on half-centuries by opener Shahzaib Hasan and Asad Baig to reach 265 for seven on the first day against Faisalabad.

Hasan’s knock was laced with eight hits to the fence, while Baig also contributed eight fours as Karachi looked to improve on their seventh place in the 12-team table.

NBP troubled by PIA

Kamran Sajid took four for 47 as NBP were reduced to 216 for nine on day one against PIA.

Test discard Fawad Alam top-scored with 49 and opener Khurram Manzoor contributed 33.

Rawalpindi dominate

In another match, Usman Saeed and Awais Zia contributed valuable half-centuries as Rawalpindi sat pretty at 326 for five at the end of day one of their match against Sialkot.

Ahmed stars for Islamabad

Elsewhere, Islamabad made 254 for seven in 80 overs on the opening day against Abbottabad. Zohaib Ahmed contributed an important 52 runs in the team’s total.
