Lone arm-wrestler calls for prayers
Pakistan’s sole participant flies out for World Championship.
LAHORE:
Pakistan’s sole entry in the 33rd World Arm Wrestling Championship, Zameer Khan, will be flying out to Kazakhstan today, hoping to grab a medal in the event.
Over 50 countries will be taking part in the event where Zameer is participating in the 65 kilogramme category in both hands.
“I’ve trained hard and I’ve confidence in my coaches,” said Zameer. “The training camp was good and I’m not taking pressure of any type. I seek the nation’s prayers and hope to put on a good show.”
Pakistan Arm-Wrestling Federation Secretary Qaisar Khan said that Pakistan’s participation was self-financed without any funding from the sports board.
