WASHINGTON:

Oscar-winning Hollywood star Angelina Jolie says she’s lucky to have survived her younger days when she dabbled in “dangerous” things and even though she is a mother now, there’s a part of her that is still a “bad girl”. “I went through heavier, darker times and I survived them. I didn’t die young,” the 36-year-old actor told CBS in an interview, to be broadcast on November 27.

“There are other artists and people who didn’t survive certain things. People can imagine that I did the most dangerous thing and for many reasons, I shouldn’t be here,” she added.

Jolie, who is now the partner of Brad Pitt, was once known for wearing a vial of her then-husband Billy Bob Thornton’s blood around her neck. She has also been estranged from her father, actor Jon Voight, who once said publicly that he thought his daughter needed help.

Jolie, a mother of six children, said there were, “Too many times where you came close to too many dangerous things.” But speaking during an interview in Budapest where she filmed some of the scenes for her directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey, Jolie said that despite building a family with Pitt, she had still kept her edge.

The actor is also a UNHCR goodwill ambassador and is known for her humanitarian work visiting refugee camps in the world’s crisis zones.

@Me: You can't steal someone who doesn't want to be stolen. Brad Pitt, much as I like him, shoulders more of the blame for whatever went on there. He was married, Jolie was not. I find it silly to lay the blame on one person, that too the person who was single at the time. Aaaanyways, not the focus of this piece, & I don't want to make it so... mad love for you Angelina, you're my female crush. Something about her is so tragically irresistible...

You are right, life isn't fair. But just bc a couple is childless doesn't mean they are any less married.
