Cricket: Zaheer’s place not guaranteed says Akram
India’s pace spearhead Zaheer Khan cannot take his place in the team for granted.
NEW DELHI:
With youngsters such as Umesh Yadav and Varun Aaron making their presence felt, India’s pace spearhead Zaheer Khan cannot take his place in the team for granted, feels former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram. Khan had missed out on India’s England tour and the current West Indies series because of ankle surgery but is expected to play in Australia next month. “Zaheer can’t take his place for granted,” said Akram. “He’s been out of cricket and has been unfit as well. He’s started working in the nets, but bowling in the middle is an entirely different thing. Hence his preparation will be key.”
