Snooker: No sign of Indian visa for Pakistani cueists
Shehzad, Toba hope to take part in World Championship this week.
KARACHI:
The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) faces an anxious wait as the two cueists chosen to represent the country at the IBSF World Championship in Bangalore are yet to be issued Indian visas.
The tournament starts on Sunday and visas for Imran Shehzad and Asif Toba were supposed to be issued last week, but the delay has added to the worry faced by PBSA President Alamgir Sheikh.
“We’re hoping the visas will be issued soon,” Sheikh told The Express Tribune. “We’re also sending a manager, referee and two officials. I’m worried that the visas might just be issued to the players and not the officials. We wanted our cueists to be at the venue so that they could practice there but that hasn’t happened.”
