Atletico Madrid finally found their touch in front of goal with a 3-2 victory over Levante. The pressure was on Atletico coach Gregorio Manzano since the team had only one win in eight matches prior to the game but the players were up to the challenge, with Luis Pizzi, Adrian Lopez and Diego Godin finding the net. Meanwhile, Athletic Bilbao secured a 2-1 win over Sevilla, taking sixth place in the league table. Earlier, Sporting Gijon beat Getafe 2-1, Osasuna drew 0-0 with Rayo Vallecano and it was also goal-less between Real Sociedad and Espanyol.
