Informative art: Travelling puppet show to promote cultural values
PNCA has organised the performances in order to provide informative entertainment to the K-P audience.
ISLAMABAD:
The puppeteers of the National Puppet Theatre will be visiting different parts of Khyber-Paktunkhwa (K-P) to promote Pakistan’s cultural values and traditions among schoolchildren.
They will organise shows in various schools of the province and will focus on social issues including health, the environment and education through the dialogue of puppets in traditional costumes. Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) has organised the performances in order to provide informative entertainment to the K-P audience.
Puppets will perform various stories, songs, parodies and other performing arts to showcase the rich culture and traditions of the country. These shows also bring folk tales, skits, national songs and regional dances providing entertainment for children of various educational institutions at their schools and community centres.
The puppet show is a regular feature of PNCA’s activities for the promotion of culture and traditions among children. “Through colourful puppets, children learn how to deal with issues in an informative way,” said a PNCA official.
