Inaugural Address: Chief justice vows to rectify past injustices

Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed vowed on Saturday to stay loyal to his oath.

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed vowed on Saturday to stay loyal to his oath and said that he would work to correct the past wrongs.


Justice Saeed was addressing a gathering of LHC employees at the court premises. Justice Umar Ata Bandial was also present on the occasion.


The chief justice said all institutions of the state needed to perform their duties within the limits set in place by the constitution. He said he would step down from his office if he ever felt that he had failed to dispense justice. He said people had great expectations with judges and that he would work with the judicial officers to ensure that those were met.

LHC Registrar Sohail Nasir congratulated Justice Saeed on taking charge of the office of the chief justice.

The chief justice is scheduled to address judges of the lower courts on Sunday (today).
