Reaching Out: 27 students from Hyderabad and Karachi trained for counselling

KARACHI:

Around 27 students from educational institutions of Karachi and Hyderabad took part in the six-day youth career counselling project organised by The Capacity Builder with the Sindh Ministry of Youth Affairs and British Council.

“Currently, it is a pilot project and is limited to Karachi and Hyderabad only,” said Mansoor Naz Vindhani, the project director at the concluding ceremony on Saturday.

The students were trained to counsel others about careers, teacher student relationships, career assessments, job searching methods and entrepreneurship.

Sindh Youth Minister Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari distributed certificates among the participants.

He said that such projects give long term benefits but are often ignored. “We would love to train each and every youth of the province but we have limited resources,” said Subzwari. He hoped that the project will be expanded across the province and will become a role model for the other provinces.
