Tribune Take: Window into Afghanistan

Zarrar Khuhro gives us a sneak peak at this weeks T-Magazine look at Afghanistan. Watch now.

In today’s episode of the Tribune Take we get a sneak peek at this week’s T-Magazine cover story on a window into Afghanistan.

Zarrar Khuhro, editor T-Magazine, takes us through the top stories for this Sunday's issue. Gibran Peshimam, news editor, the Express Tribune, travelled from Kabul to Mazar-e-Sharif and reported back what he saw and felt during his visit.

If there ever was a building that encapsulated the tragedy of modern Afghanistan then that building would be the Darul Aman Palace, a story told through a pictorial essay in this week's magazine. Built in 1923 this was Afghan King Amanullah Khan’s dream project, and today the ‘abode of peace’ is a shattered husk, its ruined walls pitted with bullets and shrapnel.

Lastly, T-Magazine interviews Shuja Rabbani, about his father the late Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani. His son remembers the man he was and his vision for Afghanistan.

The Tribune Take daily news web show will appear on the tribune.com.pk home page.

The Take will feature in-depth interviews and analysis with editors and reporters who are covering the major stories, exploring front page events and major ledes. The news analysis covers the way The Express Tribune examines a story, how we cover it and why.
