AUSTIN: The Circuit of the Americas is still keen to host the US Grand Prix, even if the debut of the Formula One race in Texas is moved back a year, according to officials. The remarks came in response to Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone’s comments that the event was set to be called off even before its first scheduled edition in November, 2012. “We’ve been working towards a 2012 US Grand Prix race and now understand that Ecclestone is interested in moving the Austin race to 2013,” said Steve Sexton, Circuit of The Americas President. “That certainly allows time for the Circuit of the Americas to be ready.”
