Gang busted: Three thieves held, seven bikes recovered

The Dadyal police busted a gang of inter-provincial motorcycle lifters and burglars here late on Wednesday. They arrested three of its members including the ring leader. They also recovered the seven stolen motorcycles from their possession from Dadayal Town.



Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Mirpur Ghulam Akbar told The Express Tribune that a police team headed by DSP Dadayal Raja Karamatullah arrested the three involved in stealing motorbikes. The three were also wanted for a burglary at a local lawyer’s house.

The SSP did not disclose names of the suspects as the police are still after their absconding accomplices, but said two of the suspects belong to Kotli while one hails from Mirpur District. They are all wanted by the police of other AJK districts for similar crimes. Dadyal police has registered a case and are investigations are in progress, he added.
