Sialkot admin warns against illegal schemes
Sialkot TMA declares 57 private housing schemes as fake.
SIALKOT:
The Sialkot Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) has declared as many as 57 private housing schemes as fake and illegal and has banned sale and purchase of plots in these societies.
These schemes were declared illegal after the owners failed to submit maps of these societies for TMA’s approval.
Approval of map is a requirement for setting up a housing colony under the Punjab Private Housing Rules of 2005.
Tehsil Officer (Planning and Coordination) Sumera Shafi said people should beware that transactions with these societies would have no legal cover.
She said these societies had yet to obtain a no-objection certificate from the TMA.
She said it had been brought to the TMA’s notice that sale and purchase of plots in these societies was underway with alleged support from some officials of the TMA and the tehsil revenue department.
She said a letter had already been sent to the revenue department warning officials to immediately stop such activities.
She said under the Punjab Private Housing Rules of 2005, infrastructure for all basic facilities should be in place before the sale and purchase of plots.
This, she said, was missing in these 57 societies.
