Formula one: ‘Restrict use of drag reduction system’
Formula One drivers want a rethink on the use of the controversial Drag Reduction System.
LONDON:
Formula One drivers want a rethink on the use of the controversial Drag Reduction System (DRS) for next season, according to Red Bull driver Mark Webber. Webber believes most drivers feel that allowing free use of the DRS in practice and qualifying is a safety risk and want it restricted, like in races. “Renault’s Bruno Senna had a crash in Suzuka, I had one in Hungary, and Sebastian Vettel’s practice crashes was caused by that too. So the drivers are almost unanimous that they would prefer its use outside of the race to be limited.”
