KHANEWAL: Federal Law Minister Babar Awan on Wednesday said that he is a ‘common man’ and lives with ‘common’ people.

While addressing media at the Khanewal Press Club, Awan said that the federal government is trying to resolve the problems of the people of the Punjab province, adding that the whole of Punjab is his house but the current situation there is ‘not good’.

The law minister also said that the Punjab government should pay attention to the backward areas of the province as it does to Lahore.

During his visit to the district bar association of Khanewal, Awan claimed that Pakistan will become a powerful country in the future, adding that after the implementation of the 18th amendment "no one is able to trespass the wall of democracy."

Providing an analogy, Awan said that it was his duty as a law minister to visit lawyers, as it is the duty of a health minister to visit patients.

Awan also announced a cafeteria, a dispensary, and a separate fund for women lawyers of Khanewal.
